BY IAEA Radiation has contaminated food grown outside of Japan Vienna, 20 Mar. (Reuters) - The radioactivity from the nuclear power plant in Fukushima-1 has not contaminated foodstuffs grown outside Japan, as confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"The radioactivity of the plant has not affected food production in any other country," said Graham Andrew, a senior the IAEA, following the requests made by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO, its acronym in English). The Health Ministry said in a statement that radiation levels in milk have also exceeded the permitted limits, both in Fukushima and Ibaraki Prefecture, and at the moment, the Ministry has banned the sale of milk.
