Born in Sevilla, Pilar Tavora has been exposed since childhood to the world of art, and especially with flamenco and theater.
began studies in psychology, but in 1980 he left to work in cinema. Beloved Mother is his third feature film after Spines Nanas (1983) and Yerma (1998). He has also directed numerous documentaries, television programs and theatrical and musical performances.
Beloved Mother In has led to the big screen a moving story about the life of Baby Al, a homosexual born in Andalusia in 1952.
